On Tuesday 22nd January 2013 we held the Green Money Event at the CREA site at Redhills, Penrith, with two seminar sessions and a connecting networking buffet.
The aim of the event was to explore ways of “Financing green projects in challenging times“. Presentations included an overview of the main technologies, conventional bank and alternative sources of funding, tax aspects of green improvements, the government’s Green Deal scheme and other approaches to making green technologies pay.
We were able to pack quite a lot of information into the two sessions, including examples of how FIT and RHI payments can reduce the payback period of projects, what sort of preparation you need to do before you apply for loans or other assistance, and examples of commercial projects that enable installation without any initial capital outlay.
CREA have identified more than £30M of potential capital investments that could improve the resource efficiency of businesses within Cumbria. The event gave the opportunity for these businesses to talk to suppliers, investors and advisors to discuss the various options available, which often vary depending on the type of business or its geographical location.
The presentations are now available for viewing below.
